Timothy T. Corbo
Mr. Corbo brings invaluable public sector experience to the firm, representing and advising clients on all aspects of matrimonial law.
Before joining Cohen Clair in 2021, Mr. Corbo was employed exclusively within the court system, working side by side with prominent commercial and matrimonial judges presiding over large and highly complex lawsuits. For nearly the past decade, Mr. Corbo served as Principal Law Clerk to the Honorable Matthew F. Cooper in a dedicated Matrimonial Part of the Supreme Court, New York County. During this time, Mr. Corbo assisted in the adjudication of a wide range of high conflict and high net worth matrimonial matters featuring disputes over custody, spousal maintenance, child support, and the equitable distribution of marital estates. For the six years before he joined Justice Cooper, Mr. Corbo clerked for the Honorable Charles E. Ramos, J.S.C. (ret.) in New York County’s Commercial Division, a dedicated Part in the Supreme Court in Manhattan which exclusively handles “complex commercial” litigation. Mr. Corbo spent a year at the outset of his legal career clerking for the Honorable William R. Delorenzo, Jr., J.S.C. (ret.) in New Jersey’s Bergen County Justice Center, a busy post-divorce matrimonial Part.
During his public sector career, Mr. Corbo helped pen countless judicial decisions, many of which have been published in the New York State Reporter and the New York Law Journal, including some of the most important and frequently-cited matrimonial decisions in New York County.
Mr. Corbo rescues senior canines with his wife and lives in Park Ridge, New Jersey.
